I've made
homemade laundry soap for a couple of years now,
a liquid form, and this is the third batch of a powder form that I've made. I have really really liked this recipe. The liquid version was just fine--but a bigger deal to make, it takes up more room, and it was more messy. I found this recipe on
Soulemama's blog. Sooooo easy! Takes me less than 10 minutes and it lasts our family of four a couple of months.
The boys play together so well now! It's been a lot of fun watching them interact! And our Sawyer man is ALL over the place. It's quite out of control, but we're loving every minute of it. I won't be surprised if he's walking at 9-10 months. c r a z y .

This is funny because I've been making the same laundry soap for years too, and I switched from powder to liquid. was your liquid soap process something like this: boil water, grate fels naptha, add powder, lots of luke warm water and let sit for 24 hours? That's how mine goes... i switched to liquid because it was a better savings from the powder, but lets be honest, the powder soap is so cheap anyways... :) good for you! lots of my friends and I have used this for a long while! go home made soap friends! :) proud of you!
I used to make my own liquid laundry soap, but found it didn't eliminate odors very well.
Mike likes me to use liquid detergent because it's better for a septic system than powder.
Lately, I've been buying the cheap stuff at the dollar store and diluting a better brand with it in order to save money.
I do use powder dishwashing soap, tho, and i generally mix it half and half with baking soda. Works great and saves money!
